The future of Angelo Henriquez has been up in the air this season.
“I hope to return someday to Manchester United,” the young Chilean said. “I was crushed because I was so close to playing in the first team and then had to look from the outside. That was very frustrating.”
The forward signed on a season long loan with the Croatian club at the start of the campaign, and has enjoyed a prosperous season in both domestic and European competitions. 19 goals have been registered in 28 games, and it is by far the 20-year-old’s best career spell to date.
With a future at Old Trafford looking unlikely, and his contract ending with the Red Devils at the close of this season, it has been widely reported that Henriquez would be joining Zagreb on a permanent deal at the end of this season.
HRSport ran a story a few months ago claiming that the forward would not be retuning to United, with Dinamo’s head coach Zoran Mimic confirming that he was looking at signing the youngster permanently.
Whilst that may mean that Henriquez does leave United this summer, his own quotes suggest that he is not overly keen on departing Old Trafford. And, even if he does, he must certainly want to return someday soon, and finally make an appearance for the Red Devils.
