A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.

The Daily Mail has carried the rumour that Manchester City are looking at possible moves for Jordan Henderson of Liverpool and Jack Wilshere of Arsenal.

It would seem that planning has already begun over the club’s transfer policy for the summer, with the pair reportedly identified to come in and revitalise the side’s midfield.

The paper claims the moves would also be intended to raise the number of English players in the club’s current squad.

The Daily Mirror has predicted a struggle for City in their pursuit of Wilshere in particular.

The paper claims that Arsenal have already opened talks with him over a new contract, as he fights his way back to full fitness.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been quoted by City AM suggesting that the Manchester derby is an ideal match for the side this weekend.

City go into the mega clash off the back of a poor defeat at Crystal Palace and they will be looking to react.

Rather than being intimidated by the form of their local rivals, the Belgian has suggested that City need to try and use the match to their advantage.

“I guess the momentum is a little bit with our neighbours at the moment, but it’s the perfect place for us to go and try to rectify what we’ve had,” he said.
