Whether you love him or hate him, few Premier League fans can escape the growing realisation that Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood is quickly establishing himself as the game’s answer to David Brent.
Full of brash moves on the touchline and bizarre management-spiel in post and pre-match interviews, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is quickly becoming something of a parody of the Ricky Gervais character.

And it’s not just his words that make him seem all the more Brent-ish either, with the 46-year-old bouncing around the touchline with such vigor, we half expect him to break out the iconic Comic Relief dance at the sight of a goal for the Claret and Blue.
With that in mind, here are five pictures of Sherwood looking like the BBC comedy icon, with a few adapted quotes for added enjoyment.
1. The Throw
"If I can throw this jacket over the dugout, we've won the game. And that's it. And that's the real match..."
2. The Motivator
"You Villa boys have got to chill out, yeah, trust me, this is what I do, all right? You will never play in a team like this again. And you will never have another manager like me - someone who's basically a chilled out entertainer."
3. The Cheerleader
"When it comes to celebrating goals, I've sort of fused Flashdance with MC Hammer s***."
4. The Actor
"Some people are intimidated when gesturing to large numbers of football supporters in an entertaining way. Not me."
5. The Smiler
"When it comes time to walk away from the game, I want to be remembered simply, as, the man who put a smile on the face of all who he met. Especially Arsenal fans."
