Five Bundesliga stars Tottenham should target this summer - Including Subotic and Wimmer

Who should Spurs pluck from the Bundesliga when the transfer window reopens.

With the summer fast approaching the chequebooks are at the ready as Premier League teams prepare themselves for another season.

The transfer market will again be fierce and once again the Bundesliga will be a popular venue for potential buyers.

But who should Tottenham Hotspur target from German football?

Here are five options…

Ciro Immobile – Borussia Dortmund

Tottenham need another striker … that is no secret. Roberto Soldado could not hit a barn door and Emmanuel Adebayor is not in the picture.

Harry Kane cannot do it all by himself.

The Italian international has not settled at Borussia Dortmund and would be an excellent acquisition.

Neven Subotic – Borussia Dortmund

Another Dortmund star. While a scramble looks set to ensue for his more illustrious partner Mats Hummels the Serbian is more than a worthy steal.

Spurs need a centre-back and he could be perfect.

Max Kruse – Borussia Monchengladbach

Spurs need a genuine wide man. Perfect option? Gladbach’s Kruse. He delivers assists for fun and his playing style would really suit the Premier League.

Kevin Wimmer – FC Koln

This one is not exactly imaginative.

Spurs are being linked heavily with a move for the Austrian but with good reason. He has been exceptional for Cologne this season and he would make a solid acquisition in the problem centre-back position.

Jonathan Schmid – SC Freiburg

Another wide option, this player is relatively unheralded but is one of the most consistent players in the Bundesliga.

He can also play at right-back should Kyle Walker ever have one of ‘those days’ at the office.
