Afobe has been a goalscoring revelation since joining Wolves on a permanent deal in January, and teammate Nouha Dicko has told the Birmingham Mail that he is already suited to the Premier League.
22-year-old Afobe is already into double figures for his goalscoring since moving to Molineux, and his effort in the 4-3 win over Leeds on Easter Monday took him to 29 for the campaign following his spell with MK Dons.
The former Arsenal youngster is one of the most prolific strikers in English football at the moment, alongside Harry Kane, and due to his exploits on loan it was a surprise that Arsenal allowed him to leave on a permanent deal.
At the age of 22 it could have been expected that the youngster would be looking at breaking into the Gunners first-team next season, and on his form this term it is hard to say that such a role would be unwarranted.
He has been scoring goals for fun, and it is since his arrival that Kenny Jackett’s Wolves side have started their rejuvenation as play-off contenders. They struggled in the latter stages of 2014, but Afobe has brought a new attacking threat to the club in the search for the Premier League, and club teammate Nouha Dicko has told the Birmingham Mail that Afobe is already good enough for the Premier League.
“I really think in the Premier League he wouldn’t have any problems playing,” Dicko said. “I hope that he will stay here and do it because he is a fantastic player. He would have something to prove to himself because people would expect him to do well there.”
