Real Madrid threw down the title race gauntlet, thrashing Granada 9-1 at the Bernabeu on Sunday, which meant Barcelona had to respond with a win of their own at Celta Vigo, if they were to maintain their four point lead at the top of La Liga.
In what proved to be a much tighter encounter at Balaidos, compared to the whitewash their arch-rivals enjoyed earlier in the day, Barcelona grabbed what would prove to be the winning goal against Celta Vigo, thanks to a header from Jeremy Mathieu in the 74th minute.
During the final moments of the encounter, however, there was a moment of madness from Celta Vigo forward, Fabian Orellana.
As the following video shows, Chilean wasn't best pleased with a free-kick awarded by the referee. His reaction was to lob a tuft of grass in the direction of Barcelona midfielder, Sergio Busquets.
Whether his aim was meant to be so precise, perhaps we'll never know, but that tuft of grass hit the Barcelona player smack in the face, which the referee spotted immediately.
Shown a straight red card, the facial impression of Orellana says it all really, as he trudged off the pitch and perhaps realised, just how foolish his his spur of the moment tuft-tossing antics were.
