Sherwood wants relentless pressure from Villa against QPR

Tim Sherwood Press Conference Smiling 12/02/2014

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood wants wave after wave of pressure from his team against QPR this evening.

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has explained via the club’s website how he feels his team can get the edge against QPR this evening.

Sherwood and Villa are facing a massive game and a victory would put some space between themselves and the bottom three as they continue their pursuit of Premier League safety.

It will be a tense game and Sherwood has explained how he expects his side to go about the match in search of three points.

“I want relentless pressure from our team on to theirs. If we take our chances and get the rub of the green, we will win the game,” he said.

The relentless pressure should be made a bit easier if the Villa Park crowd is up for the game and gets right behind the team.

The players should respond and have some extra spring in their step with the home side roaring them on and that relentless pressure should help to force a couple of mistakes from key figures in QPR’s team.

It’s important that the forward players pounce when they get the chance because this could be a match of few chances.

Villa will back themselves to create the best opportunities because of their pace and home advantage and hopefully they can work that to their advantage.

If the defence performs professionally, the pressure comes off of the attack a little bit and it only takes one half chance hitting the back of the net to be the difference.
