Leeds United went down 4-3 to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in the Championship on Monday.

Leeds United failed to return to winning ways in the Championship on Monday, as they suffered a 4-3 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home.

The Whites headed into the contest at Molineux on the back of a 3-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road.

It was always going to be tough for Leeds to win at Wolves, but they did put up a strong fight and almost earned a point.

The West Yorkshire outfit were 3-1 down at one stage, but they staged a comeback to make it 3-3.

However, a header from Dave Edwards in the 88th minute saw the Wanderers pick up all three points from the Championship encounter and maintain their push for the playoffs.

One of the Leeds players who gave a good account of himself at Molineux was Kalvin Phillips.

The 19-year-old midfielder was making his debut for the Whites’ first team and played the entire 90 minutes.

Following the match, a number of Leeds players took to social networking site to congratulate Phillips on making his debut for the former Premier League outfit.

Fulham forward Matt Smith was following the match, and he was impressed with Alex Mowatt’s goal from 20 yards in the 74th minute.

The 25-year-old, who joined the London outfit from Leeds in the summer of 2014 for what BBC Sport reported to be a transfer fee of £500,000, made the following post on Twitter:
