Ian Wright mocks Newcastle United on Twitter

Alan Pardew

Ian Wright took to Twitter to mock Newcastle United after Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace beat Manchester City.

Will Newcastle United live to regret not making a bigger play to keep Alan Pardew at the club?

Former England striker Ian Wright took to Twitter to mock the Magpies, who have still not announced a long term replacement for the manager,

Pardew led Crystal Palace to a momentous win over Manchester City on Monday night, re-affirming his superb spell since taking over at the club where he enjoyed success as a player.

Wright played alongside Pardew at Palace, and found amusement in the manager's success, and Newcastle's struggles.

Newcastle have installed John Carver as temporary boss until the end of the season, but also failed to rule out offering him a long term deal, despite his poor performance as boss.

Pardew walked away from Newcastle and was not fired, but sections of the club's support were vociferous in wanting him sacked early in the season after a poor start.

The manager is proving his doubters wrong, and Newcastle's troubles, highlighted by their derby loss to Sunderland at the weekend, only give ammunition to pundits like Wright who are keen to stick up for the previously beleaguered boss.
