Derby County returned to winning ways in the Championship on Monday, as they got the better of Wigan Athletic 2-0 away from home.
After a goalless first half at the DW Stadium, half-time substitute Chris Martin put the Rams in the lead in the 51st minute when he smashed the ball home from Johnny Russell's cut-back.
Then nine minutes from full time, Aston Villa-owned striker Darren Bent doubled the advantage with his ninth goal in 13 matches.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the DW Stadium, Derby had 45% of the possession, took nine shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners.
Meanwhile, hosts Wigan had 55% of the possession, took 17 shots of which seven were on target, and earned nine corners.
The victory over Wigan has lifted Derby up to fifth in the Championship table with 71 points from 41 matches, just six points behind leaders Bournemouth.
Following the match, Derby defender Stephen Warnock took to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction, making a rather amusing remark in the process.
