Stan Collymore has suggested four players he feels haven't worked out at Tottenham Hotspur.
Former Aston Villa and Liverpool forward Stan Collymore listed on talkSPORT the players he feels haven’t worked out for Tottenham Hotspur.
Collymore was debating the areas that Tottenham needed to improve with supporters live on air and suggested that the North Londoners have made the wrong call in relation to four first team players.
“Looking at the players brought in with the Gareth Bale money, Soldado hasn't worked, Chadli arguably hasn't worked, Lamela hasn't worked, Paulinho hasn't worked,” said Collymore.
Collymore’s comments certainly suggest that there is a need for an established and consistent wide man in their squad looking ahead to next season.
There was some surprise when Andros Townsend was left on the bench for the game against Burnley, with a gap in the squad down one of the flanks to compliment Chadli or Townsend.
The Daily Mail linked Juventus with a move for Paulinho during the January transfer window while Roberto Soldado’s struggles since a big money move from Valencia have been well documented.
The aim and the ultimate dream for Tottenham is always going to be getting into the Champions League and if Pochettino targets a complete overhaul of his playing staff this summer, he’ll have his work cut out to draft in the numbers across a number of different areas.
There is talent in all areas of Tottenham’s team but the squad options and the game changers need to be fine-tuned to make the difference in games like the one at Burnley, when sides dig in and make it difficult for Tottenham.
