According to French website Foot Mercato 365, Celtic are interested in signing Nantes centre back Papy Djilobodji this summer.
The Bhoys know that defender Jason Denayer will return to Manchester City this summer upon the expiration of his loan deal at Celtic, whilst his centre back partner Virgil van Dijk may well move on to a Premier League club at the end of the season too.
That would leave manager Ronny Deila needing to sign at least one centre back, and he recently confirmed to Sky Sports that he is interested in signing Hearts captain Danny Wilson this summer.
Yet now, reports from French website Foot Mercato 365 suggest that Celtic now want to sign Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji to reinforce their defence.
The Senegal international, 26, stands at a giant 6ft 4in tall - the same height as van Dijk - and could be seen as the Dutchman's replacement.
A regular for Nantes ever since his 2010 move from Senart-Moissy, Djilobodji has been highly-rated in France for some time now, impressing with his strength, speed and passing ability.
Djilobodji has just one year remaining on his contract in France, so Celtic could land themselves a bargain if these reports from France are to be believed.
