Middlesbrough forward Patrick Bamford has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to today’s defeat to Watford away from home in the Championship.
Aitor Karanka’s side headed into the game at Vicarage Road on the back of a 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the Riverside Stadium.
Many would have expected them to at least pick up a point, but Middlesbrough suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Hornets.
Troy Deeney put Watford ahead in the 37th minute when he finished from a narrow angle after controlling Adlene Guedioura's cross from deep.
Odion Ighalo doubled the home side’s advantage in the 65th minute with left-foot drive from 18 yards.
Middlesbrough’s performance against Watford was disappointing, and Chelsea-owned Bamford has admitted so on Twitter.
Bad game, didn't do the occasion justice, we didn't turn up. But still all to play for, need the whole of Teesside together now! #UTB— Patrick Bamford (@Patrick_Bamford) April 6, 2015
Over the course of 90 minutes, Middlesbrough had 57% of the possession, took 12 shots of which only two were on target, and earned six corners.
Middlesbrough are now in the Championship table with 75 points from 41 matches, just a point behind leaders Watford.
