Former Liverpool forward Stan Collymore said on talkSPORT yesterday that he guarantees Brendan Rodgers won’t be sacked at Anfield this summer.
The defeat against Arsenal over the weekend has left the club clinging onto the hope of a top four position by their fingernails but Collymore doesn’t feel that Rodgers will be given his marching orders at the end of the season.
“I guarantee that Brendan Rodgers won’t be sacked at Liverpool this summer,” said Collymore when assessing Rodgers’ situation.
Despite the defeat to the Gunners, there is still plenty for Liverpool fans to be positive about with a potential FA Cup semi-final place at Wembley up for grabs, if the side can get the better of Blackburn this week.
The FA Cup would represent a decent season for the Reds although it will be disappointing for the side if they miss out on the top four this season.
Liverpool were superb last season nearly winning the title and automatically qualifying for the Champions League, but they have struggled at times this season with the higher ratio of games facing the team.
The gap is seven points to Manchester City with seven games left, which is a massive gap to overturn in such a short period of time.
However, Rodgers will give the team every chance before reviewing the squad over the summer, targeting additions and then going hard again next season.
