The former Tottenham Hotspur idol scored against Granada.
Former Tottenham Hotspur idol Gareth Bale has taken to Twitter to celebrate Real Madrid’s whopping 9-1 victory over Granada.
Bale was amongst the goal scorers, though as per usual it was Cristiano Ronaldo who stole the show by notching an incredible five goals.
It takes the former United star’s season tally to 36 league goals in just 26 appearances, four clear of Barcelona’s Argentine superstar Lionel Messi.
Bale - the game’s opening goal scorer after 25 minutes - has been the subject of much criticism in the Spanish capital this season but he continues to get amongst the goals.
The former Spurs man took his season tally to 13, just two shy of last season’s total and there is every chance he will surpass that mark before the end of the current campaign.
His goal came courtesy of a defensive blunder as he found himself through on goal, though take nothing away from his ability to round the goalkeeper and keep his composure to score from a tight angle.
Following his teammate’s lead in basking in Madrid’s fabulous win with supporters on Twitter, the Welsh international took to the social media site to hail the great team performance and vital three points.
