The Netherlands international scored a brace in PSV’s 5-0 thumping of Twente yesterday.
The Netherlands international has been a star for PSV Eindhoven this season, leading the Phillips Stadion to the top of the Eredivisie table.
Phillip Cocu’s men continued their surge towards the Eredivisie title yesterday with an uncompromising 5-0 win over Twente, opening up an 11 points game over nearest rivals Ajax.
Depay’s strikes came within three minutes of each other and sealed the victory as they are PSV’s fourth and fifth strikes of the game.
For the 21-year-old, the goals reasserted his position as the Dutch top flight’s leading goalscorer, taking his tally to 19 goals in the league.
It also took the up-and-coming star to 25 goals in all competitions this season - an amazing feat given that he does not operate as a central striker.
With Spurs not possessing a consistent option on the right-hand side of their midfield, Depay would surely be an ideal addition this summer and a real statement of intent that the North Londoners are ready to challenge for the top four next season.
