Some Spurs supporters feel the Brazilian is the worst player they've ever seen...
Has there been a worse game this season?
And, what's more, Spurs fans had to watch one of the 'worst' players they've ever seen. Well that was certainly the view of a few of them, as Paulinho trudged through 90 minutes without affecting anything in his path.
The sum of the Brazlian's contribution was a truly horrendous shot in the second half that went miles (almost literally) wide. Apart from that, the 26-year-old did very little else.
He wasn't the only man to underwhelm, of course, as both the Clarets and the north London side struggled for any sort of initiative or creativity. But Paulinho was certainly the subject of Tottenham supporter wrath on Twitter after the game.
The 0-0 draw keeps Burnley in with a chance of staying up, although the point does little for Spurs' top-four hopes. Is there a realistic future for Paulinho at White Hart Lane? It's a question that comes up repeatedly. Based on the feeling on social media on Sunday afternoon, the answer to that question is a big fat no...
Paulinho is one of the worst players I've ever seen. And that's saying something being a spurs fan!! #THFC— Robbie Reddy (@blackrob1989) April 5, 2015
Thinking of setting up a kickstarter to pay Paulinho out of his contract. #thfc— Max Michael (@maximmbroking) April 5, 2015
Wouldn't surprise me if Paulinho's inclusion was contractual, or at least Pochettino trying to ease tensions. He was woefully bad. #THFC— James Burford (@JamesBurf) April 5, 2015
I still can't believe Paulinho played 90 minutes today only time I saw him do something was the pass or shot that went miles wide #THFC— CiaranBrogan (@CiaranBrogan93) April 5, 2015
I've seen John Pratt, Stuart Nethercott, John Lacy et al but Paulinho is the worst footballer I've ever seen in the shirt #THFC— Simon Lipson (@Mottle12) April 5, 2015
