Rangers edged past Hearts 2-1 at Ibrox in the Scottish Championship earlier today.

Rangers manager Stuart McCall has highlighted on the club’s official website the aspects of his team which he liked against Hearts today.

The Gers continued their good run of form under McCall, as they got the better of the visitors from Edinburgh 2-1 at Ibrox in the Scottish Championship.

The Glasgow giants went 2-0 up after 38 minutes, thanks to goals from Kenny Miller and Haris Vuckic, but Lee McCulloch’s dismissal on the stroke of half time threatened to change the complexion of the game.

Hearts halved the deficit late in the second half and pressed on for the equaliser, but Rangers held on for the three points.

Following the match, McCall sang the praises of his Rangers team on the club’s official website.

"I'm pleased with so many parts of the game,” said the Scot. “The way we started, the way we stopped them playing, the quality of the two goals, the performance in the first half, good tempo, good football, strong defending, team work.

"The second half was about guts, desire, commitment, togetherness so, as you imagine, I'm very proud.”

Victory over champions Hearts has enhanced Rangers’ chances of making the Championship playoffs this season.

McCall’s side are now second in the league table with 58 points from 30 matches, three points clear of third-placed Hibernian with a game in hand.
