Report: While Newcastle struggle, Cabaye linked with Arsenal

The man Newcastle United could very much do with having back has once again been linked with a move to the Gunners.

Arsenal are considering a £10 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain and ex-Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabayeaccording to the Sunday Mirror.

Since the Frenchman left St James' Park, things just haven't been the same for the Magpies.

Nor have they been the same for the midfielder, of course, who has struggled for game time at PSG.

That is said to be behind his desire to return to the Premier League - or at least leave the Ligue 1 outfit. And who better to put in a £10 million bid for the 29-year-old than Arsenal, the side who were originally linked with him when he was at Newcastle?

How the Tyneside outfit could do with Cabaye back themselves, of course, as they continue to struggle under John Carver in the Premier League.

'Struggle' is an interesting word, as the club recently announced record profits, meaning Newcastle may just have found the perfect balance for profit making under owner Mike Ashley.

On the pitch, however, they definitely aren't setting any records right now. And what a shame it would be for Newcastle to see Cabaye back in England, only with Arsenal not the Magpies. Let's see if anything comes of the reported interest...
