Southampton are becoming synonymous with bright young talent, and one of the latest to break through the ranks is James Ward-Prowse.
The 20-year-old midfielder started for Ronald Koeman’s side against Everton this weekend, and while he was unable to prevent them from losing 1-0 he showed glimpses of what he could one day become.
In just over an hour on the pitch, the Saints youngster played as an attacking midfielder and outshone Everton’s Ross Barkley, who departed shortly after his countryman.
Ward-Prowse has made 24 appearances for Southampton this season, taking his tally to 84 and counting.
He has provided an impressive eight assists in that time, and his eye for a pass marks him out as one to watch, while recent comments from England manager Roy Hodgson and published by the BBC suggest he could be line for a senior international cap in due course.
