Cristiano Ronaldo came into Sunday's match with one of the worst runs of form in his Real Madrid career, scoring just 10 goals through the first three months of the year over 15 games.
While the stats may be a career year for some forwards, it is considered a dramatic dip in form at the Santiago Bernabeu and in the life of Ronaldo, who felt the heat from the fans and the media for his inconsistent performances this calendar year.
However, following the international break with Portugal, Cristiano came back determined as ever to regain his place atop the La Liga scoring list and found the perfect target in Granada, who have one of the worst defences in the Primera.
Gareth Bale kicked off the scoring in the 25th minute, which was soon followed by a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick that only took eight minutes to produce.
Following the break, Cristiano added one goal in-between Karim Benzema's brace and one more goal at the very end to seal yet another record in his thrilling five-goal performance in front of the Santiago Bernabeu faithful.
Following the match, Cristiano did not speak to the media but did post a message via his official Facebook account, thanking everyone for their support over his rough patch.
