Blackburn Rovers returned to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday with a 3-0 hammering of Leeds United away from home.
Rovers headed into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Ewood Park before the two-week international break.
Gary Bowyer’s side were expected to be given a tough test by the Whites, but they eased to a 3-0 win in West Yorkshire.
Leeds were reduced to 10 men in the latter stages of the first half when captain Rudy Austin was sent off for an off-the-ball clash with Ben Marshall.
Blackburn seized the initiative in the second half and took full advantage of their numeral superiority.
Tom Cairney's close-range volley saw the visitors take the lead at Elland Road just past the hour mark, and Jordan Rhodes headed in to double the lead just minutes later.
Jay Spearing wrapped up the three points for Blackburn with their third goal of the match 10 minutes from full time.
Victory over Leeds has set up Blackburn nicely for Wednesday’s game against Liverpool. It is an FA Cup quarter-final replay at Ewood Park.
