Thrilled Rangers fans react on Twitter to Hibernian defeat

Rangers fans were over the moon they now have the chance to leapfrog Hibernian into second place in the Scottish Championship.

It's fair to say plenty of Rangers fans took pleasure in seeing their rivals lose on Saturday afternoon, as Hibernian were beaten at home by Queen of the South.

Hibs lost 1-0, giving Rangers the chance to leapfrog them in the Scottish Championship table tomorrow when they face Hearts.

Hibernian currently sit in second but are now only level on points with the Gers despite having played two games more than Stuart McCall's men. The only problem for Rangers, of course, is that they face runaway league leaders in Hearts on Sunday afternoon - not exactly a walk in the park.

Hibernian's result has certainly given them confidence and motivation, however. A win and they'll most certainly go second.

News of the Hibs defeat prompted a number of Rangers fans to poke fun at the result but, more importantly, celebrate their chances of going second on Twitter. They received their fair share of criticism from rival supporters - as well as those of Hearts. But the joy of seeing Hibernian lose and potentially 'bottle it' was all too much for some.
