Report: Battle for Pogba signing is between Chelsea and Barcelona

According to Catalan newspaper Sport, only Chelsea will pose a serious challenge to Barcelona in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

The front page of Saturday's edition of Sport claims that Barcelona will make a whopping €70 million offer this summer for Juventus midfield machine Paul Pogba, while also loaning the Frenchman to the 'Old Lady' of Italian football for the 2015-16 season.

Such a loan deal comes out of necessity, due to the current FIFA transfer ban imposed on the Catalan giants which doesn't permit them to register any new signings until January 2016.

However, the report in Sport stands contrary to other Spanish outlets, such as their main publishing rivals Mundo Deportivo, who have suggested Barcelona would let the player stay at Juventus for the first half of the season, albeit with a provision he doesn't play in the Champions League for the Italians, then register him as soon as the transfer ban ends.

Completely ignoring recent claims of Madrid based outlets AS and Marca that Real Madrid have set Pogba as their number one summer target, having sent Zinedine Zidane to whisper sweet words in the ears of 22-year-old French international, Sport also regards Premier League side Chelsea as the main rivals to any bid from Barcelona, and nobody else.
