Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom's debut

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom looked bright on his debut for loan club Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom was on the losing side on his debut for Nottingham Forest against Wolves.

Wolves won 2-1 and it was former Gunner Benik Afobe who came up trumps by scoring the game's opening goal.

Akpom was bright throughout the contest, but was starved of service and only managed one shot, which landed off target.

The striker has been in form for Arsenal's under-21 side this season, and last week netted for England's under-20s, and this spell in the Championship will be crucial for his confidence heading into pre-season.

Akpom is on the verge of Arsenal's first team, but needs to play regularly, which was why he was sent on loan, and Forest boss Dougie Freedman showed his faith by picking him as a starter.

His addition was slightly controversial among Forest fans, with some preferring to see their own under-21 prospect Tyler Walker given a chance to shine, but Akpom impressed sufficiently yesterday to suggest he can be worthy addition.

Forest's loss was a bitter blow against Wolves in the race for the play-offs. Wolves now have an 11-point advantage over Dougie Freedman's side, who are in ninth, while Kenny Jackett's team are level on points with sixth place, the final play-off spots.

Here is a look at how fans reacted to Akpom's performance...
