Leeds United suffered a 3-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.
Redfearn’s future is currently under speculation following the suspension of his assistant Steve Thompson on Thursday.
The Englishman himself admitted last week that he is considering his future, with The Sun quoting him as saying: “I’ve got to have a real hard think. Where before it was a no-brainer — I’ve got to have a think now.”
However, Redfearn, whose current contract with Leeds runs out at the end of the season, was in the dugout for the Whites’ Championship clash against Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road on Saturday.
The match ended in a 3-0 defeat for the hosts, but the Leeds fans were very vocal in their support for the 49-year-old.
Former Leeds striker Whelan was impressed with the support Redfearn got from almost 25,000 home fans, and posted the following message on Twitter:
Back home after a disappointing result v Blackburn , great turn out and support from Leeds utd fans for redders , so much respect 4 him MOT— Noel David Whelan (@NoelDavidWhelan) April 4, 2015
Redfearn has done a really brilliant job at Leeds, taking the team from close to the Championship relegation zone to mid-table safety.
Moreover, the Englishman has given youngsters like Alex Mowatt and Lewis Cook the chance to play regular first-team football.
It would be a really shame if Redfearn were no longer in charge of the Leeds first team next season.
