Michael Owen has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Liverpool’s defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League earlier today.
Brendan Rodgers’s side suffered a humiliating 4-1 loss to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
Liverpool were never in the game and had virtually lost the contest in the opening 45 minutes.
Hector Bellerin, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez scored in the last eight minutes of the first half to put the Gunners 3-0 ahead.
Although Jordan Henderson pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 76th minute, Olivier Giroud scored late on to ascertain’s Arsenal victory.
Liverpool also ended the game with 10 men following the dismissal of Emre Can in the second half.
The Merseyside outfit are currently fifth in the league table with 54 points from 31 matches, seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
Owen seems to suggest that Liverpool’s chances of a top-four finish are over, and has urged them to focus on the FA Cup.

Liverpool will face Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup quarter-final replay away from home on Wednesday.
With Blackburn winning convincingly against Leeds United at Elland Road in the Championship today, it will be far from easy for the Reds to emerge victorious at Ewood Park.
