Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Tottenham Hotspur will fail to win against Burnley away from home in the Premier League today.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker believes that the clash at Turf Moor will end in a draw.
“This is a tough game to call with the hosts fighting for PL survival and the visitors knowing that they must win if they are to have any chance of finishing in the top four.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Game to finish in a draw at 13/5”.
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Many Premier League football followers will be surprised at Owen’s prediction, but could it come true?
Burnley are struggling for survival in the Premier League, and they are not going to go down without a fight.
Sean Dyche’s side have shown this season that they can compete with the top teams at home, and one suspects that the two-week international break will have given the players plenty of time to prepare for the clash against Tottenham.
However, Tottenham have to be considered favourites heading into the game. The visitors are the better team and have players of better quality.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are fighting for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, and one suspects that they will have prepared for today’s game thoroughly.
The key for Tottenham will be not to concede an early goal and to keep it tight at the back in the final 20 minutes of the encounter.
The North London outfit have often been guilty of keeping it late to win games. They simply cannot afford to do that against Burnley.
