Mark Lawrenson predicts Leicester City v West Ham United

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to today’s Premier League clash between Leicester City and West Ham United.

Mark Lawrenson has predicted in his BBC Sport column that Leicester City will win today’s Premier League clash against West Ham United at home.

The former Liverpool defender has backed the relegation-threatened Foxes to register a 2-1 victory over the Hammers at the King Power Stadium.

“They will not go down without a fight, though, and Pearson will have them up and ready for a battle on Saturday, even if he just says to his players 'this is our final throw of the dice’,” the 57-year-old wrote on BBC Sport.

“I remember being in a relegation struggle with Brighton when it looked like we were dropping out of the top flight and, in the dressing room before games, the attitude was 'let's go for it’…

“It was amazing how that can sometimes have the desired effect, and that is why I think this is a game they can win.”

Could Mark Lawrenson’s prediction come true?

Leicester are struggling for survival in the Premier League, and they will be determined to pick up all three points against West Ham at home.

For the Foxes to maintain their chances to remain in the English top flight next season, they need to collect as many points as they can from their home matches.

However, West Ham still have enough quality to draw this match, and it will be somewhat of a surprise if Leicester win today.

London outfit West Ham are the better team who will be determined to build on their victory over Sunderland before the two-week international break.

Sam Allardyce’s side are unlikely to finish in a European spot this campaign, but they will be keen on ending the season on a high.
