Ian Wright sends Raheem Sterling Twitter message, Liverpool & Arsenal fans respond

The Gunners icon praised the 20-year-old after the Reds' 4-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium.

Ian Wright took to Twitter to heap praise on Liverpool star Raheem Sterling on Saturday evening.

Sterling's Liverpool side had just suffered a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal in the day's early Premier League kick-off but Wright felt the 20-year-old conducted himself well considering recent circumstances.

Sterling's future has been the subject of speculation, with the teenager recently linked with Arsenal after publicly discussing his Liverpool future.

In truth, of course, the young forward's performance against the Gunners received a mixed response.

Many thought Sterling did well in the striker's role against Arsenal but there were those who asked what exactly the 20-year-old achieved in the role.

And, in response to Wright's tweet, both Arsenal and Liverpool fans had plenty to say. Supporters of the north London side, for instance, were impressed with his 'playing the game' by being nice to the forward!

Reds fans, however, were more sceptical, criticising Sterling's performance against Arsenal and basically saying 'you can have him.'

Some also pointed out that the 'pressure' the Liverpool star is under has been created largely by his own actions. Another interesting day for the youngster, then...
