Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at not being able to play against West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
The 25-year-old Dutchman has missed QPR’s last five league matches after suffering a medial collateral ligament injury in February. And now he has sent a message to the club’s fans as he bids to make a return to the first-team sooner rather than later.
Writing on the social media site, Fer said, “Still gutted, can’t be out there to help the team, but I’ll be back soon. Come on today lads and fans.”
Fer has featured 24 times in the league this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists to date.
His last goal came in the vital 1-0 win against Sunderland and QPR manager Chris Ramsey will be hoping his side gets back to winning ways this weekend against Tony Pulis’s impressive club.
QPR have lost their last five matches and as a result they are 19th in the league, four points clear of top flight safety.
