One of the key duels in today’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium will be between two of the most in-form midfielders.
While Coquelin has been a revelation at Arsenal since his return from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic in December, Henderson has established himself as a consistent figure in the Liverpool team.

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, it seems that Coquelin has been the better player so far this season.
Per game, the Frenchman has made more tackles and effective clearances, won more interceptions and duels, and has made more ball recoveries.
Perhaps that is expected because of the role that the 23-year-old plays for Arsenal, but even then, the stats of Coquelin are impressive.
Henderson is a more dynamic player and is more open to launching attacks. That is proven by the fact that he has taken more shots and create more chances, and has also played more passes per game than Coquelin.
Of course, these stats will mean little when Coquelin and Henderson take to the pitch at the Emirates today, but they certainly give an indication of how the duel could play out.
