Liverpool desperately missed the presence of the defender today.
Liverpool were outplayed today by Arsenal, as they were comfortably beaten 4-1.
Throughout the game it was clear that they were missing one of their most important players. Martin Skrtel was serving the first game of his three-game suspension for stamping on David De Gea in the Manchester United game before the international break.
In his absence, former Manchester City and Arsenal player Kolo Toure was playing in the heart of defence. It is fair to say he did not have the best of games. He was struggling to deal with the fluid attacking style of the Arsenal attack and Liverpool were subsequently punished.
One man who certainly felt that Skrtel was missing was Vladimir Weiss. The former Manchester City and Rangers winger is a team-mate of the Liverpool defender at international level with Slovakia.
He Tweeted this earlier today, as Arsenal tore into Liverpool's poor defence.
Vladimir Weiss currently plays with the likes of Chico Flores under the management of Michael Laudrup for Qatari side Lekhwiya. He spent the 2010-11 season on loan at Ibrox from Manchester City – playing 35 times and winning the Scottish title and League Cup trophy.
Liverpool fans will certainly agree with Weiss, Skrtel's return cannot come soon enough.
