Everton confirm midfielder Darron Gibson has suffered yet another injury

The injury-prone Irishman has broken a bone in his foot just two months after return.

Everton have revealed via their official Twitter account that midfielder Darron Gibson is once again set for a lengthy spell on the treatment table.

The Irishman has suffered a fractured metatarsal, which is likely to rule him out of the remainder of this campaign and perhaps some of pre-season.

The news will be a massive blow to the Everton man.

He has suffered with serious injuries throughout his career. He only recently returned to action after several months out with a knee injury picked up in November.

Unfortunately he has only managed to feature in 18 games this season and last term he featured just four times. That means that in the past two seasons Gibson has played just 22 times for club and country. For Everton, it is just 16 times in the past two seasons.

Everton fans don't mind Gibson. When he plays he has a fantastic pass on him and a rocket-propelled right foot. But this is yet another injury problem that looks set to sideline the 27-year-old for several months.

Everton fans are now starting to wonder what exactly they are paying Gibson for.
