Substitute Sergiu Bus put the Owls ahead in the 86th minute when he scrambled home Marnick Vermijl's cross from close range.
However, just three minutes later, Ishmael Miller equalised for Huddersfield, when he fired home after collecting a knock-down from James Vaughan.
After full time, Lavery, who started the match and played for 74 minutes, posted the following message on Twitter.

Wednesday had 59% of the possession, took 14 shots, of which five were on target, and earned four corners.
Meanwhile, visiting Huddersfield had 41% of the possession, took only four shots, of which three were on target, and earned just two corners.
Wednesday are currently 12th in the Championship table with 54 points from 40 matches.
