German international Mesut Ozil scored the second goal in Arsenal’s 4-1 win against Liverpool on Saturday, and Wenger was effusive in his praise for the club-record signing.
“What he does is always classy and intelligent,” Wenger said of his player. “The timing of his passes is fantastic. You’d love to play with him.”
Liverpool held on for much of the first half despite an Arsenal onslaught, but it all got too much and the Gunners scored three times in eight minutes to put a massive dent in the Reds’ hopes of finishing in the top four.
Ozil has been brilliant since his return from a ruptured knee ligament, and after another brief spell on the side-lines he shone against Liverpool.
Can the Gunners make a late charge for the Premier League title? Only time will tell, but with the former Real Madrid star in top form, along with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud, there is a chance, no matter how slight.
