Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Mesut Ozil performance v Liverpool

Ozil was in top form, scoring a great free-kick against Liverpool.

Arsenal thumped Liverpool this afternoon 4-1 at The Emirates. They romped to a 3-0 lead at half-time and went on to score again in the second half.

There were several top performances on the day. Francis Coquelin was superb. Alexis Sanchez dynamic and Hector Bellerin fantastic.

But it was German international Mesut Ozil who was superb throughout.

The German has struggled for consistent form since his record move to the club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.

But since he returned from his knee injury this year he has been in decent form and this was his best performance in an Arsenal shirt for a while.

He sprayed the ball out for Aaron Ramsey in the build up to the first goal from Bellerin and then produced his own piece of magic to fire home a free-kick from the edge of the box.

It was a vintage Ozil performance at times. Neat touches, the odd nutmeg and scything passing were present throughout - before Arsene Wenger pulled him off to receive a heroes reception from the home support.

Here is what Arsenal fans thought about the player's performance on Twitter...
