According to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, via AS, Porto have been searching the transfer market for an ideal replacement for Danilo, after the club confirmed the Brazilian's €31.5 million move to Real Madrid and may have found their answer in Barcelona's Douglas.
Douglas has failed to make an impact at the Camp Nou this season, as was expected when he was brought in this past summer.
As the season has progressed, Douglas has been injured for the majority of the campaign leaving him only fit enough to play in three Copa del Rey games and just one La Liga contest.
However, the report goes on to state that Porto manager Julen Lopetegui has liked what he's seen and heard from Douglas' time at Sao Paulo. Considering he will not be in Luis Enrique's plans for next season, the Porto boss intends to request a loan move for next season.
Players like Casemiro, Cristian Tello and Oliver Torres have thrived under Lopetegui at Porto and Barcelona will be hoping the same happens with Douglas.
Should they be unable to sign Douglas on loan, Porto are also looking at two other Brazilians in Atletico Mineiro's Marcos Rocha and Cruziero's Mayke as alternatives.
