Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Manchester United will defeat Aston Villa at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.
The former United striker believes that the Villans stand no chance of picking up even a point against Louis van Gaal’s side.
“Villa have won one of their last 38 PL games against United and I will be astonished if they get all three points against an improving United side who were good value for their win at Anfield last time,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“The hosts have won 12 of their last 14 home PL games and I fully expect them to go into next weekend’s Manchester Derby on the back of another home success.”
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
United will indeed head into Saturday’s game as heavy favourites, and they should pick up all three points.
The Red Devils have started to play well over the past few weeks and won all three of their Premier League games in March.
Before the international break, the Manchester outfit edged past Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, and prior to that, they had hammered Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at Old Trafford.
It will be interesting to see if the two-week international break will have any effect on United, but Villa’s chances of snatching a draw in Manchester cannot be written off.
Although the Villans are hovering just above the relegation zone, under manager Tim Sherwood, they have a fighting chance of survival.
