According to the Metro, Liverpool are keen to add Deulofeu to their crop of young attacking players, as the club are said to have been impressed with the Catalan winger during his loan spell at Goodison Park last season, and his more recent performances with Sevilla and Spain's U-21 side this season.
Barcelona are widely thought likely to sell Deulofeu this summer, as the Spanish U-21 captain has failed to reach his obvious potential while a loanee at both Everton and Sevilla, despite showing glimpses of brilliance.
Deulofeu struggled for playing time while at Everton and while he has seen more on-the-pitch time with Europa League champions Sevilla this year, he has been the subject of criticism from manager Unai Emery, who feels that Deulofeu relies too heavily on his natural talent and needs to put his ego aside.
Liverpool's bid for Deulofeu could ironically likely come as the result of the sale of players like Iago Aspas, who is currently on loan from Liverpool at Sevilla. The former Celta Vigo star has failed to make his mark at Anfield or the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this season.
