The Tottenham Hotspur striker was aiming for his third consecutive player of the month award.
Today saw the player and manager of the month awards for March revealed, with Arsenal sweeping the board. The Gunners have been in good form recently and that saw Arsene Wenger collect the manager's gong.
Striker Olivier Giroud was named player of the month.
He scored five goals and created one in four games last month - so was rightly awarded the player of the month award for the Premier League.
In doing so, the Arsenal striker prevented Tottenham's from making history.
Harry Kane won the awards in both January and February. That made him the first man to win the POTM award twice in a row since Cristiano Ronaldo did during his time at Manchester United.
Nobody had ever completed the feat on three successive occasions.
After his hat-trick against Leicester City recently Kane was always going to be up for the award in March as well, and he was on the list of nominees for this award as well.
But the Arsenal striker's form has prevented his North London rival from creating a little bit of history - something which will undoubtedly please the Gunners faithful.
