Sherwood was appointed the Villa boss in February following the dismissal of Paul Lambert, and he has already given the Villans a fighting chance of survival.
The Villans are currently 16th in the Premier League table with 28 points from 28 matches, three points above the relegation zone.
“I know Tim Sherwood from Tottenham, he’s an unbelievable motivator and it’s the perfect job for him,” Bent told The Telegraph. “He’s got that spark about him and he’s what Villa needed at the time.”
Sherwood has already started to make his mark at Villa, as the players look more confident and optimistic.
The Villa fans are also flocking to Villa Park and seem confident of survival in the top flight of English football for one more season at least.
There is still a long way to go, though, and there is still a chance that Villa could go down to the Championship.
Away matches against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City this month will be very tough to negotiate, while home games against Everton and West Ham United in May are unlikely to be easy.
