Crystal Palace star James McArthur wishes former team Wigan Athletic 'good luck' in relegation dogfight

The Scot has not forgotten about his former club Wigan.

Crystal Palace look to have pulled themselves clear of the relegation dogfight in the Premier League recently, with an exceptional run of form since Alan Pardew took over from Neil Warnock as Eagles manager.

Plenty of players have played their part in that successful run of recent form, one such player being midfielder James McArthur.

McArthur arrived from Wigan Athletic in the summer, for a fee reported by London 24 to be in the region of £7 million and he has gone on to become a regular member in the Crystal Palace first-team.

Of course he has left a Wigan side that is now battling relegation from the Championship. Wigan currently sit in 22nd place ahead of the Easter schedule, five points off of Rotherham and safety.

They do not have an easy run in. They take on promotion chasing Middlesbrough and Derby County in their next two fixtures, with games against relegation rivals Fulham and Millwall away to follow.

A win against Boro today would do wonders for their cause and the Crystal Palace midfielder has Tweeted to the club, wishing them all the best this afternoon.

Lactics fans would certainly wish for McArthur to still be in the team today.
