Video: Unlikeliest of West Ham duos link up beautifully in training

Enner Valencia, Andy Carroll, Mark Noble

Mark Noble and James Collins produced the goods in the box on Thursday afternoon...

James Collins and Mark Noble have certainly scored goals for West Ham United before... but you wouldn't exactly associate either with skill and flair, would you?

Noble, a disciplinarian and leader in midfield, and Collins, a tough-tackling centre-back, are essentially archetypal British players.

But the West Ham duo reverted from type in training on Thursday afternoon - and in front of the cameras, too. They didn't produce a bad performance...

Indeed, as can be seen in the above clip, the pair linked up beautifully in the box before Noble calmly netted and Collins was unfortunate to hit the woodwork.

More of the same would go appreciated at West Ham as the east London side take on the Premier League's bottom team in Leicester City this weekend.

The Hammers currently sit ninth in the table after ending a poor run with a 1-0 victory over Sunderland before the international break. Now, Sam Allardyce's men travel to the King Power Stadium to face Nigel Pearson's Foxes.

Can West Ham take their magic tough from the training ground onto the big stage in the top flight?
