Newcastle United will lose four of their key players in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.
The British daily claims that Moussa Sissoko, Cheick Tiote, Tim Krul and Papiss Demba Cisse all will head for the exit at the end of the season.
It has also been reported that agents of midfielder Sissoko and Tiote have been searching for potential clubs for their respective clients.
Newcastle reportedly already know that neither of the midfielders is happy at St. James’ Park under the current situation, with France international Sissoko having “made it clear” to the club that he wants to play in the Champions League.
Adverse effect on Newcastle
If Sissoko, Tiote, Krul and Cisse leave Newcastle at the end of the season, then it will leave a huge hole in the squad.
These are four of the best and most important players in the Magpies squad, and it will leave the club a lot of work to do.
Signing replacements for the four stars will not be easy, and even if Newcastle do get like-for-like replacements, then they will take some time to settle in.
For Newcastle to remain competitive, they must try to hold on to Sissoko, Tiote, Krul and Cisse for next season at least.
