The Leeds striker has taken to Twitter on a very puzzling day indeed at Elland Road.
Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci has taken to Twitter admitting it's been an 'unreal' day for the Italian - and that he doesn't know the 'truth.'
Well, in so doing, the 30-year-old has echoed the thoughts of thousands of Leeds fans and neutrals who are simply scratching their heads at the events currently unfolding at the Yorkshire club.
After a recent run of impressive form in the Championship, as well as a seemingly newfound stability at Elland Road, Leeds were starting to look like a proper side again - one that could possibly challenge at the right end of the league next season.
What was the club's response?
Earlier today, they suspended assistant manager Steve Thompson. Then, reports surfaced that the club have been telling boss Neil Redfearn not to play top scorer Antenucci due to a clause in his contract that means his deal must be extended if he scores 12 goals.
I don't know what's going on around me. it all seems unreal.i've tried to do my best for the club always.— Mirco Antenucci (@anteseven) April 2, 2015
my job is to score for leeds.i am in the middle of this situation that I don't know the truth— Mirco Antenucci (@anteseven) April 2, 2015
The news prompted the above reaction from Antenucci, who has been a loyal servant to Leeds at Elland Road so far this season.
Whatever next for the Yorkshire club?
