Mason celebrated winning his first England cap by showing off a tattoo on his arm, and it has begged the question as to whether he has the most surprising idol in football.
The Spurs star has broken onto the scene in impressive fashion this term, going from his first start in September against Nottingham Forest to becoming a key member in the Lilywhites midfield.
It is hard to see how the 23-year-old has enjoyed such a promising season after spending years in the wilderness, flitting between loan moves among a host of Football League clubs.
But maybe it is Mason’s strange tattoo that has given him the motivation to succeed, with the creepy similarities to the random supporter improving Mason’s abilities to a limitless level.
There is actually no confirmation as to who the person in the tattoo is, but the picture does look like the young boy’s doppleganger.
The chances of it being the boy in question are 0.0000000001% - we cannot write it off completely after all - but whoever it is, they got a starring role in England’s 1-1 draw with Italy, and it has made the boy in question an overnight viral star.
