Craig Forsyth in confident mood ahead of Derby County’s clash against Watford

Derby County will face Watford at home in the Championship on Friday.

Derby County defender Craig Forsyth has told the club’s official Twitter page that the team can win their next two games in the Championship.

The Rams will host Watford at the iPro Stadium on Friday and face Wigan Athletic away from home at the DW Stadium on Monday.

Steve McClaren’s side have lost their last two league matches and have not won any game since Tuesday, February 24.

"We know the seven games we have coming up are tough,” the 26-year-old told the club’s official Twitter page. “The mood is good and everyone is looking forward to the challenge.

“We know what is required. We've perhaps not had luck on our side lately, but we can't moan about that. We have to stay positive

"We are aiming as high as possible. We want to get as many points as we can now and see where it takes us. We want to challenge.

“Getting a win on the board will hopefully get us on a run again. We can't dwell on the past and know we can win successive games.”

Derby are currently fifth in the Championship table with 67 points from 39 matches, six points behind leaders Bournemouth and just one ahead of Brentford, who are seventh.

Although Forsyth sounds confident of winning against Watford, the game will prove to be hugely difficult.

Watford are second in the league table at the moment with 72 points from 39 games and are in the running for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Despite being the visiting side, the Hornets will be confident of picking up all three points at the iPro Stadium.
