Stamford Bridge

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

The Daily Mail has reported that left-back Filipe Luis will be staying with Chelsea beyond this summer.

The defender has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid having struggled to force his way ahead of Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Luis featured in wins against France and Chile for Brazil during the international break.

The Sport Review has reported that Eden Hazard is rated as the best midfielder in Europe based on this season.

The Belgian has been given a rating of 100 in an assessment of all players across top European leagues based on a variety of factors.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil is the only player who can get anywhere near him based on the assessment.

Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has been quoted by ESPN talking up his relationship with former midfielder Juan Mata.

The Belgian says he shared a very good relationship with the Spaniard, who was sold in a move to Manchester United.

Hazard says that from their very first training session together, the pair struck up an instant connection.

“From the first training session we were together our understanding was very good and we had a good relationship,” he said.
