Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is coy on speculation linking the club to Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, as reported by Sky Sports.
The 20-year-old’s future has come under speculation in recent weeks, with The Mirror reporting only last month that Arsenal could make a move for the youngster at the end of the season.
However, Wenger himself has not openly claimed his interest in the England international and said in his press conference this morning, as reported by Sky Sports: ”Sterling is a top player. I don't want to get involved in that just 48 hours before game.”
It is a short and simple response from Wenger, who has a much bigger issue at hand at the moment.
Arsenal will take on Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Saturday.
With both the teams fighting for a top-four finish, the encounter could eventually prove to be decisive.
While Sterling is certainly going to enhance the quality that Arsenal already have, it is hugely important for Wenger and his players to keep their focus on Saturday’s match.
